Cairo: One more feather was added to Narendra Modi’s cap when he was conferred with the ‘Order of the Nile’ award here on Sunday.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi presented the Indian Prime Minister Egypt’s highest state honour ahead of their bilateral meeting.
The ‘Order of the Nile’ is a pure gold collar consisting of three-square gold units comprising Pharaonic symbols. It is conferred on heads of states, crown princes, and vice-presidents who offer invaluable services to Egypt or humanity in general.
Since being sworn in as India’s 15th Prime Minister on May 26, 2014, Modi has received several international awards. The Order of the Nile is the 13th such state honour that Modi has been adorned with by different countries.
