Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old female student was found hanging at a private residential college in Shilpanchal police limits of Odisha’s Balasore district here today.
The minor, a native of Santaragadia in Nilagiri in the district, was a student of Plus II Science in the college.
The incident reportedly took place inside the girls’ hostel on the college campus late in the night on Sunday. While it is suspected to be a case of suicide, the exact cause of death has not been established yet, police said.
On getting information, college and hostel authorities reached the spot. Family members too arrived and demanded to know the reason behind the death. Official sources said while the exact cause of death has not been ascertained yet, a case has been registered and investigation initiated. Further details are awaited.
