Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly strangled his wife and minor son to death while they were sleeping at home.
The incident occurred at Kusagadia area in Tesinga panchayat under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, Umesh Nayak of Bant area had been staying in a rented house at Kusagadia with his wife Kanchanbala and son in last 2-3 years.
The drunk Umesh allegedly strangled mother-son duo in their sleep last night.
A saree was also found hanging from a ceiling fan at home. It is alleged that the accused might have made this to term it as suicide after killing them.
The local sources said that Umesh used to assault his wife and son very often in inebriated state.
On receiving information, Bhandaripokhari police reached the spot and seized the bodies.
