Bhubaneswar: SPINFED signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three Incubatees for the establishment of an Incubation Centre in the apparel sector.
The MoU was signed today between Debjit Nandy, MD, SPINFED and three selected incubates—Mukesh Kumar Nayak of Kendrapara, Binoy Munda of Rairangpur, and Biswojit Kiro of Sundargarh in the presence of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts (HT&H) Minister, Smt. Rita Sahoo, HT&H Department Principal Secretary, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Textiles Shovan Krishna Sahu, Director of Handicrafts Smt. Pranati Chhotray, HT&H Department Special Secretary Saroj Kumar Patel and other officials.
The main objective of the incubation centre is to promote entrepreneurship in apparel manufacturing to create additional manufacturing capacity to generate additional employment opportunities. The project components are plug-and-play factory building-ready to-use factory buildings with a total built-up area of 45,000 sq. ft. for three incubators.
The incubation period for each incubatee shall be three years without any initial cooling period. It is expected that more than 500 unemployed women would get employment through this Incubation Centre.
More and more women entrepreneurs will be deployed and financially empowered through the Incubation Centre, said Minister Smt. Sahoo. These three incubatees will be role models in Odisha and encourage more entrepreneurs with employment opportunities in the apparel sector, said Principal Secretary Dr Padhee.
