Bhubaneswar: At a time when demand for opening of all the four doors of Srimandir in Puri is growing louder, Odisha Law Minister Jagannath Saraka gave his response in this regard on Sunday.

As per Saraka, a decision in this regard will be taken in due time as per the requirement and convenience of the devotees.

“The temple administration and the district administration will take the decision to open all the four doors of Srimandir at the right time as per the requirement and convenience of the devotees,” said Sarika on the sidelines of a programme in Puri.

Notably, owing to the demands from all quarters, the district administration opened the western gate (Paschima Dwara) of Lord Jagannath temple last month. However, still, a large number of people are waiting in queues to have the darshan of the Holy Trinity and as a result, there has been a huge rush in front of the 12th-century shrine on a daily basis.

It is worth mentioning that prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, devotees were allowed to enter the 12th-century shrine from all four gates. During the pandemic, the three doors of the temple were shut for the devotees. But even long after the pandemic, devotees were allowed to the shrine through the Lion’s Gate (Singha Dwara) only, resulting in a huge rush.
