Bhubaneswar: The Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) has approved 1,415 development projects worth Rs.118.82 crore undertaken from 1st April to 21st August.
The projects were taken up as per recommendations of local MPs, MLAs, PRI Members and Collectors of 11 districts. Similarly, out of the additional grant of Rs.125 crore by Chief Minister for completion of incomplete Kalyan Mandaps, Community Centers and Mandaps, expenditure to the tune of Rs.62.07 crore for completion of 741 Mukhya Mantri Sabhaghar was approved during the 62nd council meeting of WODC held at Rajiv Bhawan here.
Presiding over the meeting, Principal Advisor to CM and Chairman of WODC Asit Tripathy highlighted about the council’s stand for construction of multipurpose halls in all Govt Aided Colleges of Western Odisha and construction of a Western Odisha Museum for preservation and display of folk art, musical instruments and cultural artefacts.
CEO of WODC Dr Ajit Kumar Mishra presented the agenda for discussion in the meeting. The MLAs appreciated the steps taken by WODC for augmenting the completion of Mukhya Mantri Sabhaghars in various parts of Western Odisha.
Tripathy called upon the joint endeavor of people’s representatives, members from civil society and the field level officials for timely completion of ongoing projects with focus on Eco Tourism and people friendly infrastructure.
The meeting was attended Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya, MLA Lanjigarh Pradeep Dishari and MLA Khariar Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi along with Narayan Sahu, Advisor and 8 Expert Members from the operational districts.
