Kendrapada: A giant crocodile was safely rescued from a village in Rajnagar area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district in a daring operation.
The baula crocodile was rescued at Jaduchandrapur village located in the Chandibaunsmul panchayat under Rajnagar block of the coastal district on Sunday night, sources said.
The rescue operation was launched after the around 12-feet-long crocodile was spotted in the backyard of a villager. Forest department personnel and villagers rescued the crocodile using a net and ropes.
Steps were then taken to release the reptile into its natural habitat. The Forest department personnel made arrangements to release the crocodile into a river flowing along the village, the sources said.
This incident comes close on the heels of the rescue another giant crocodile from a nearby village in the area over a week ago.
