Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police has started cyber security awareness campaign in Cuttack city and district from today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
A Cyber safety Rath was launched in Cuttack today on Gandhi Jayanti in the presence of Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Sauvik Biswal, Mayor Subas Singh, Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
On the occasion, the DCP said that cybercrime is increasing day by day in the State. Odisha police has taken a series of actions to prevent online crimes.
The rath will visit various police station areas in Cuttack district to alert people about cybercrime. Awareness will be made through video display. A senior police officer will be in charge of the Rath.
Mayor Subas Singh, MLA Sauvik Biswal, DCP Pinak Mishra formally flagged off the awareness Rath.
On September 30, the Chief Minister launched the Cyber Security Campaign with the aim to sensitize people regarding cyber fraud. The rath will tour different areas across the State till October 15.
The campaign has also been launched in Sundargarh and Deogarh districts today. The drive was launched on police headquarters premises.
In Malkangari, SP Nitesh Wadhwani launched the awareness program to prevent cyber fraud. Earlier, music, documentary, and logo on the awareness programme were launched.
Wadhwani said that the Rath will tour various panchayats, villages, schools, colleges, and police stations in the district till October 15.
