Bhubaneswar: Dense fog may continue to engulf Odisha for another 24 hours with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issuing yellow warning for 14 districts.
According to the news agency, thick blanket of fog may occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Koraput districts. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely across the state during next 3 days.
On January 17, light rain may occur at one or two places in Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Mayurbhanj. Light rain is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak during the subsequent 24 hours.
The MeT office further said that there will be no large change in the night temperature at many places in the state during the next 4-5 days.
Notably, six places had recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours with Kirei in Sundargarh district being the coldest places in Odisha for the second consecutive day at 7.7 degree Celsius. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 17.2 and 18.5 degree Celsius, respectively, 2.8 and 3.3 degrees above normal.
