Odisha Govt. inks pact with IHM for skill training to PwDs

Bhubaneswar: The Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) recently signed an agreement with Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar to impart skill training for hearing impaired youths in hospitality sector.

The institute (erstwhile IHM) under the Ministry of Tourism will provide skill training to 150 youths in 5 batches.

Principal Secretary of SSEPD Department Bishnupada Sethi said that necessary skill training to PwDs will open more vistas for gainful employment in hotel and hospitality sector. The State Government gives importance on creating more employment opportunities among PwDs, he added.

In the presence of senior officers of the department, Special Secretary Dillip Kumar Ray and Smt. Sharada Ghosh, Principal of IHM signed the agreement on behalf of the Department and the Institute respectively.
