Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development Minister Usha Devi, who is the Chairperson of State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), on Friday emphasised on expediting the urban transformative journey under 5T initiatives.
Chairing the 22nd Governing Body meeting of SUDA at UNNATI Bhawan here, the Minister approved the budget for 2023-24 and appreciated the initiative taken & achievement made during the financial year.
Discussions were made on audited financial statements for 2021-22 & 2022-23, cash flow (inflow & out flow) for last two years, audit observations, DAY-NULM (social mobilisation & institution building, self-employment programme, shelter for urban household, support for urban street vendors and capacity building training) resource development of SUDA Trans partners and support to Divyang etc.
Set up in 1990, SUDA has been assigned to monitor and co-ordinate planning and implementation of different anti-poverty schemes in urban areas. Since last few years, SUDA has been undertaking its responsibilities and has also put forth its best efforts to propagate the community management concept and scientific methodology for Income Generation Programmes.
Principal Secretary of H&UD G Mathivathanan highlighted about the future roadmap of SUDA in transforming urban Odisha.
Among others, Director of SUDA Sarada Prasad Panda, Director of Municipal Administration Sangramjit Nayak, FA-cum-Addl. Secretary Shikha Biswal, OSD and Special Secretary Sanjaya Parmanik and other members from line departments were present.
