Bhubaneswar: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Raghubar Das on Tuesday took oath as the 26th Governor of Odisha.
Chief Justice of Orissa High Court administered the oath of office to Das at a special ceremony held at Raj Bhawan.
He invited 80 persons including his family and friends to attend his oath-taking ceremony today.
Before the oath, Das visited the Lingaraj temple in the morning to seek the blessings of Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar. Praying before the Lord he sought Odisha and India to reach the pinnacle of development and success.
The priests of Badu Nijog helped Das, his family and leaders of Odisha BJP who accompanied him to the temple, perform puja and avail darshan of the Lord.
Earlier on Monday, Das visited Srimandir and took blessings of Lord Jagannath where he said, “Lord Jagannath has brought me to Odisha to serve the people. I want to assure you that the doors of Raj Bhavan will remain open for the people of Odisha all the time.”
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das was appointed the Governor of Odisha by President Droupadi Murmu on October 18. He replaced Professor Ganeshi Lal.
