Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday approved two instream storage structures to be implemented at a cost of Rs 86.25 crore. While Murlijhar project will be taken up in Kalahandi district, Damodarpur instream storage structure is proposed to be implemented in Mayurbhanj.
The Chief Minister sanctioned a total of Rs 86.25 crore for these two projects. While Rs 41.25 crore was sanctioned for Muralijhar project, Rs 45 crore has been approved for Damodarpur structure, official sources said.
It may be noted here that 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V K Pandian had visited Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj districts and received proposals from people for various projects. The Chief Minister approved the projects today as per the proposal of the people.
The two projects will cater to the needs of Bhawanipatna block in Kalahandi and Badasahi block in Mayurbhanj district.
The projects will help increase groundwater level. These will also be helpful for drinking water projects, fish farming, and animal husbandry in the areas.
