Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience shallow fog to moderate fog for three days during which the night temperature is also likely to drop by 3-5 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.
The weather agency has forecast light rain at a few places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state till Saturday morning. Shallow to moderate fog may occur at one or two places in interior districts of the state till December 10.
Dry weather will prevail thereafter.
Notably, the night temperature plummeted below 12 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours with Koraput recording 11.5 degree Celsius. However, there was a marked rise in the temperature at one or two places in South Interior Odisha and an appreciable rise at one or two places in South Odisha. “The minimum temperature was above normal at many places in Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at many places in coastal Odisha and at a few places in Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places in coastal Odisha and at one or two places in Interior Odisha and normal elsewhere in the state,” the Met office saw
The rise in temperature is being attributed to overcast sky in the aftermath of cyclone Michuang and it is likely to drop with the advent of dry weather in the state, sources said.
