Bhubaneswar: Odisha got some respite from cold wave with the night temperature increasing by 2-3 degrees in the last 24 hours, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department informed on Sunday.
Koraput was the coldest in the state at 6.6 degree Celsius followed by Daringbadi in Kandhamal at 7 degree Celsius, G Udayagiri also in Kandhamal at 7.4 degree Celsius, Keonjhar at 8.8 degree Celsius, Sundargarh at 9 degree Celsius, Kirei in Sundargarh at 9.4 degree Celsius, Phulbani, the districts headquarters of Kandhamal, at 9.5 degree Celsius and Semiliguda in Koraput at 9.6 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16 and 15.1 degree Celsius, respectively, which was 1.4 and 1.3 degrees above normal.
There will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 4-5 days, it added.
Amid the prevailing dry weather, some places also experience dense fog this morning, which restricted visibility to 40 metres in Rourkela, 50 metres in Koraput, 60 metres in Nayagarh, 70 metres in Phulbani, 90 metres in Balangir, and 100 metres in Titlagarh. Bhawanipatna, Sundagarh, Keonjhar and Sonepur experience shallow to moderate fog.
The weather agency has also issued yellow warning of dense fog for two more days.
