They expressed happiness for him taking responsibility as Chairman of 5T Initiative and Nabin Odisha. They said that he is working day and night to give shape the vision of Chief Minister for a new, empowered Odisha. He has been driving the transformation dream of the Chief Minister, they said.

VK Pandian thanked the organisations and sought their cooperation in State’s endeavours. He asked them to work as partners of this transformation drive to realise Chief Minister’s vision of a new and empowered Odisha.

The associations which met the 5T Chairman include SAKHA, the organisation of transgenders led by Advisor Meera Parida, Odisha Child Protection Officers and Staff Association, Odia Mahamancha New Delhi, All Odisha Additional BDOs Association and Punjabi Global Foundation.

He visited different project sites between 4 am and 7 am and directed officials and agencies to complete Sri Mandir Parikrama Project (SMPP) by December.

Decisions taken in the review:

• Adequate arrangements for parking of two wheelers will be made for commuters and sebayats
• Special attention to be given to keep the outer access road free from encroachments
• The mutt re-development work will be expedited, involving all stakeholders and keeping in mind their history and heritage
• Special focus should be given to the landscaping works using plant varieties that are in tune with the heritage of the 12th-century shrine
• STP works will be expedited
• Electrical sub-station work to be completed at the earliest
• TATA project was instructed to engage more man power during night hours to complete the work in a time-bound manner
• Prime importance to be given to ensure best experience to thousands of devotees who visit the temple everyday along with quality and timely completion of the works

The 5T secretary also reviewed the progress of work at Jagannath Ballav Parking Centre (JBPC) and Sri Setu along with parking facilities and provision of basic amenities for the devotees. The agency constructing the Shree Setu work and JBPC was instructed to complete the project in time, so that the devotees coming to Puri will get a better feeling from coming New year, a CMO release said.

Secretary Works Department, Collector Puri, SP Puri, OBCC MD and other officials were present.

57,085 Grievances have been received during the district public grievance meetings out of which 37,513 have been disposed till now (65.71%). Sh Pandian reviewed the progress with all the districts collectors today. He asked the Collectors to ensure personal attention towards disposal of the public grievances. It was informed that 24,722 letters have been written to the petitioners regarding their grievance redressal and 22,407 phone calls also made in this regard.

Pandian appreciated the collectors for their pro active and sensitive approach in resolving these grievances.

He also reviewed the Drinking Water Issues and Electricity related issues and directed to resolve them on priority.

He reviewed the progress of various important projects that have been sanctioned after the CMO district visit, progress of various Educational Institutions and Religious/Community projects sanctioned under CMSA and asked the Collectors to ensure the completion within the timeline. He emphasised that the community should be closely involved from the conception to the completion stage.

During the execution of various projects that have been recently sanctioned from Chief Ministers Special Assistance (CMSA) and other schemes, he asked the Collectors to ensure the implementation of 5T principles. Under Transparency – all sanctioned projects should have project pillar and information board, pre-execution photo, during execution and post-execution photo; Team Work – involvement of the community at all stages – conception, sanction and implementation; Time – execution as per the project timelines with emphasis on quality; Technology – to speed up the work all leading to Transformation.

Pandian also discussed various issues being faced by the districts and gave them suggestions on how to proceed towards resolving the grievances.

He told collectors that lon pending legacy issues relating to land like Gramkantha poramboke etc should be followed up closely and resolved in a timeframe to benefit people.

He also mentioned that all the colleges that have been taken up under the 5T College Transformation Initiative and will be doing good work will again be given further funds in next phase.

All the districts collectors and senior CMO officials were present during the meeting.
