Gopalpur Port created history by achieving the highest-ever iron ore lumps cargo loading of 59,150 Metric Tons in 24 hours on the vessel MV Reachy Spring nominated by JSW Steel. The port also set a record by loading 86,700 MT of iron ore lumps in 40 hours on the vessel on 15th July 2023 with an average loading of 2,167 mt per hour. The master of the vessel awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Gopalpur Port for this record.

The port has ability to handle more than 20 rakes a day and this record breaking performance on marine operations reinforces its position as a reliable and competitive maritime gateway. Gopalpur is the poised to be the next super port in East India, added Rao.

Under the management control of Shapoorji Pallonji Group since 2017, Gopalpur Port provides the requisite marine infrastructure to handle cape vessels upto a draft of 14.5 meters. Furthermore, the port provides open and closed storage space to store about 2.5 MT of cargo, spread across a vide cargo mix and clientele. Gopalpur Port has eight operational rail yard sidings for efficient and seamless handling of multiple cargoes.

On the sidelines of the G20FMCBG meetings, she will also participate in an Investor Dialogue Roundtable, a tax symposium, besides other bilateral engagements, including with Canada, Indonesia, US, European Commission and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The meeting will discuss a range of issues related to global economy and international financial architecture.

Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will jointly chair the third G20 FMCBGs meeting.

The third meeting will mark the culmination of the work on many of the key deliverables from the G20 Finance Track in 2023 carried out under various work streams based on the mandate received during the first G20 FMCBG conclave held in February in Bengaluru, Ajay Seth, secretary, department of economic affairs, ministry of finance had said last week.

The decline in WPI was due to fall in prices of mineral oils, food products, basic metals, crude petroleum & natural gas and textiles.

This is the third month in a row when wholesale inflation has stayed in the deflationary zone.

At -4.12 per cent, the WPI inflation has hit its lowest level since October 2015, when it had fallen to -4.76 per cent.

In April 2023, it stood at (-)0.92 per cent.

In March 2023, WPI inflation had fallen to a 29-month low of 1.34 per cent owing to steep fall in indexes of primary articles, manufactured products, fuel and power as well as food.

Meanwhile, according to the commerce ministry data, the all-commodities index of the WPI fell by 0.4 per cent month-on-month in June, indicating weakening of price momentum.
