According to sources, he is scheduled to attend a programme at Konark and Cuttack and also inspect the Cuttack railway station.

On Monday, he will inaugurate the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with new upgraded Tejas rakes that can run at 200 km per hour. These rakes with facilities like electro-pneumatic assisted brakes, passenger information system, electronic passenger reservation chart integrated with the infotainment system (LCDs on the back of chairs) are for long-distance journey to the better travel experience of passengers with enhanced comfort.

On the last day of his visit, Vaishnaw will inspect the Bhubaneswar railway station in the morning and later in the afternoon, inaugurate a Train Management Centre at Khurda Road. He will also review works of East Coast Railway (ECoR) and postal and telecom departments, sources added.

As per reports, the economy meals will be provided at Rs 20 & Rs 50 along with affordable packaged drinking water at Rs 3.

The facility will be available at 50-plus locations across the country. The economy meals will be provided only near GS coaches at platforms of selected stations for the benefit of General class passengers, informed the Indian Railways.

By paying Rs 20, a passenger will get seven Puris, dry curry and pickle. Similarly, one can get snack meals like Chole-rice, Khichdi, Pav Bhaji or Masala Dosa at Rs 50.

A 200 ml drinking water bottle will cost only Rs 3 for the passengers, who have expressed satisfaction over the new arrangement.

At present, economy meals are available at several stations including Jaipur, Mathura, Kharagpur, Katihar, Dhanbad, Rewari, Bilaspur, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Rajkot, Mumbai Central, and Rourkela among others.

According to a release of the ECoR, 08465 Puri-Udhna (Surat) Jan Sadharan Weekly Unreserved Special Train will leave Puri at 1455 hrs every Wednesday between 12th July and 2nd August. In the return direction, it will leave Udhna at 2300hrs every Thursdays between 13th July and 3rd August.

The train will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda Road, Ib, Bilaspur, Raipur, Nagpur, Wardha and Bhusabal.

08562 Visakhapatnam-Rangapara North Special from Visakhapatnam will leave at 0010hrs every Sunday upto 30th August and reach Rangapara North at 1000hrs on Monday. In the return direction, it will leave Rangapara North at 0515hrs every Tuesday upto 31st August and arrive at Visakhapatnam at 1535hrs on Wednesdays.

The services of following Special Trains have been extended:

02837/02838 Santragachhi-Puri-Santragachhi Special leaving Santragachhi on every Friday and leaving Puri on every Saturday has been extended to run up to 26th August 2023.
08011/08012 Bhanjapur (Baripada)-Puri- Bhanjapur Special leaving Bhanjapur on every Thursday & Saturday and leaving Puri on every Fridays & Sundays has been extended to run up to 1st September 2023.
08588 Visakhapatnam-Banaras Special Express leaving from Visakhapatnam on every Wednesday will now run up to 30th August, 2023. 08587 Banaras-Visakhapatnam Special Express leaving from Banaras on every Thursday will now run up to 31st August, 2023.
It has also been decided to provide experimental stoppage of following trains at various stations:

As many as 293 people were killed and over 1,200 injured in the triple train collision near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore district on June 2.

South Eastern Railway’s General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra, told reporters, “Had the officials been alert, the accident could have been avoided.” ”The railways have so far suspended seven employees, including three who were arrested by the CBI. According to norms, an employee arrested for 24 hours stands suspended,” Mishra told reporters after visiting the accident site. Earlier, the CBI had arrested senior Section Engineer (signal) Arun Kumar Mahanta, Section Engineer Mohammed Amir Khan and Technician Pappu Kumar.

They have been taken on another four-day remand by the CBI from Wednesday. The three employees were produced in the CBI designated court here after completion of their 5-day remand on Tuesday. Earlier, the probe conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), South Eastern Circle, revealed that the accident took place due to lapses in the signalling circuit alteration at the North Signal Goomty of the station. The Howrah-bound Coromandel Express crashed into a stationary goods train, derailing most of its coaches on June 2.

A few coaches of Coromandel Express toppled over the last few coaches of the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express which was passing by at the same time.
