He said various activities are planned to be implemented including establishment of a Charkha Centre.

The MoU aims at creating a linkage between academic and industry learning for ITI students, enhancing their skills and making them industry-ready.
Under this collaboration, training will be provided with a focus on industry-specific skills, incorporating utmost safety measures. The students of the ITI will have access to hands-on training facilities that simulate real-life circumstances, as well as classroom and practical training options.

This is the 4th ITI in Odisha which has signed the MoU with TPSODL. Earlier, the company signed the agreement with ITIs at Berhampur, Hinjilicut and Rayagada.

]]>Following a complaint that Anil Kumar Nayak, working as ASI in Jeypore Town police station, was demanding the bribe to release his seized two-wheeler and its connected document, the Vigilance laid a trap.
As per the plan, the complainant went to give Rs 5,000 to the ASI and a private person, Md Nazrul. Vigilance sleuths nabbed Nayak and Nazrul accepting the money red-handed. They also recovered the entire bribe money from their possession and seized it.
Following the trap, the Vigilance carried out raid on Nayak’s house from DA angle.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case under PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 in this connection. Further investigation is in progress against both the accused persons.

He also reviewed the progress of renovation of other major roads projects at a cost of Rs. 172.40 crore and major bridge projects at a cost of Rs. 210 crore being implemented in the district.
Some of the projects have been taken up after the previous visit of Pandian to Koraput District when he attended the grievance meetings and took feedback from the public.
Later, he interacted with the general public at Dussehra ground at Jeypore and received their grievances on various issues and assured early resolution.
]]>The deceased have been identified as Nandalal Thakar, Gaurav Thakar and Naman Thakar. The injured, Rachana Thakar, is undergoing treatment at district headquarters hospital in Koraput. The victims belong to Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh, sources said.
The accident took place around midnight when the family was travelling to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh from Chhattisgarh for a vacation. Gaurav, who was reportedly on the wheels, lost control over the vehicle at a turning and it plunged into a 100-metre-deep gorge. The accident, suspected to have occurred either due to fog or sleeplessness of the driver, was detected this morning.
Pottangi police have recovered the bodies and initiated an investigation.

]]>The millet brand ambassadors from Odisha are Raimati Ghiuria, a pioneering farmer from Kundra block in Koraput, and Subhasha Mahanta of Mayurbhanj. Besides talking about benefits of the highly nutritious coarse grains to the world leaders and delegates at Bharat Mandapam, they will also elaborate on the lifestyle of the tribals and efforts made to preserve millet, sources said.
While stating that the world will now get to learn about the success of Odisha Millet Mission, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also posted about the duo on his official X handle.
Speaking to media, Raimati said that she speak about millets and will be carrying her collections to Delhi to showcase them to the world leaders.

The spouses of G20 leaders will be taken on a curated tour of the 1,200-acre Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) campus on September 9. ]]>According to an official release, the resident of Berhampur, who had been living in Koraput for many years, was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed at Koraput Town police station on April 25, 2023. Fake ID of I & PR Department of the Odisha government and other incriminating documents were seized from him.
The release further said that Kishore used to extort money from people by claiming to be an RTI activist. He had also been promising crusher license, liquor license and transfer,citing his contacts with senior officers, for the last 2-3 years. “Bank accounts of Kishore shows credit of more than Rs 2 crore in last 2- 3 years with lots of cash deposits.”
Initial investigation revealed that he was a member of a larger group involved in thuggery, cheating and impersonation. “This group used some mule bank accounts, including those of dead persons.”
It added that the accused is a MA in political science with good command over English.

]]>The deceased security personnel has been identified as Amar Pal, who is said to be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to sources, some other jawans of the battalion reportedly found Amar Pal’s body hanging. They immediately informed their concerned officials about Pal’s shocking death.
Soon, a team of higher authorities and local police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. They seized the body of security personnel and sent it to the hospital for autopsy.
From its preliminary investigation, police said Amar Pal took his life by hanging himself. However, the reason that prompted him to take the drastic step is yet to be ascertained.
