Their marriage was solemnised on Sunday evening at a luxury hotel here in the presence of close friends and family, with the assembled paparazzi having to satisfy themselves with only long-distance shots, such as those of Raghav enjoying a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

The jaimala and pheras took place around 4.30 p.m. The guests who were present included AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Sanjeev Arora, and Sania Mirza, the tennis star who is also Parineeti’s BFF.

The couple had an ivory-themed wedding and the guests were seen dressed similarly. For the vidaai, the song ‘Dilwale Dhulhaniya Le Jayengey’ picturised on Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol was played.

For the wedding, Parineeti reportedly wore a pearl white ensemble by Manish Malhotra; Raghav was styled by his maternal uncle, fashion designer Pawan Sachdeva, for the big day.

A report by The Hindustan Times claimed that Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha’s wedding will be a week-long event. Even though the actress has a hectic schedule at work, “She’s been planning the wedding day in, day out.” Further, the report mentioned that the wedding festivities are expected to start on September 17 and that the main wedding and other functions will be held at the Leela Palace in Udaipur. A source told the publication, “Only close family members and friends will be staying there. For the other guests, all luxury properties in and around the wedding venue have been booked. It’s going to be a grand Punjabi wedding. The celebration will end on September 24.” There are plans for the guests to indulge in tourist activities as well.

Since a lot of politicians will be attending, the hotels have been told to beef up security arrangements. A recce is underway by the police to ascertain a security plan.

The couple had never publicly discussed their relationship before they got engaged on May 13 at New Delhi’s Kapurthala House. They had studied together at the London School of Economics.

Meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra will be seen in Chamkila alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is about two prominent Punjabi singers, Amarjot Kaur and Amar Singh Chamkila.
