Rajnath Singh – www.publictrustofindia.com https://publictrustofindia.com Odisha English News Wed, 06 Sep 2023 07:27:05 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 Rajnath Singh’s word war against INDIA https://publictrustofindia.com/2023/09/05/rajnath-singhs-word-war-against-india/ Tue, 05 Sep 2023 01:20:23 +0000 https://publictrustofindia.com/?p=3989 Bhubaneswar: Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Monday drew a parallel between Opposition bloc India and the ‘India Shining’ slogan BJP had coined ahead of the 2002 Lok Sabha elections.

Calling it a ‘dangerous’ name, Rajnath said the Opposition will definitely lose next year’s polls just like the saffron party did two decades ago.

“They have named themselves INDIA. I would like to tell them that this name is dangerous. We too once gave the slogan of ‘Shining India’ and we lost. Now you have named yourself INDIA, and your defeat is certain,” Rajnath said while addressing a rally at Runicha Dham in poll-bound Rajasthan.

Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, Rajnath said the Opposition had raised questions after Chandrayaan-2 failed.

“Mangalyaan, Chandrayaan and Suryayaan have been successfully launched and also successfully landed, but ‘Rahulyaan’ has neither been launched nor landed for the past 20 years,” Rajnath said.

India successfully test-fires new generation Agni prime missile VL-SRSAM Off Odisha’s Chandipur https://publictrustofindia.com/2022/06/24/india-successfully-test-fires-new-generation-agni-prime-missile-vl-srsam-off-odishas-chandipur/ Fri, 24 Jun 2022 16:32:20 +0000 https://publictrustofindia.com/?p=1343 Bhubaneswar: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy on Friday successfully flight tested the Vertically Launched Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from an Indian Naval Ship (INS) off the coast of Chandipur in Odish.

The launch was conducted from the Indian Naval Ship, off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha,” ANI quoted the DRDO officials as saying.

According to the DRDO, today’s launch of the system was conducted against a high-speed aerial target mimicking aircraft, which was successfully engaged. This was the second test of the Agni Prime missile.

The test was conducted at 11am off the APJ Abdul Kalam island in balasore. The first test was successfully carried out on June 28 at the same place.

The DRDO said in a statement that the test was carried out by DRDO at 11.06am. The Telemetry, radar, electro-optical stations and downrange ships were positioned along eastern coast which tracked and monitored missile trajectory and parameters. The Missile followed the textbook trajectory and met all mission objectives with high level of accuracy.

Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Defence and Research Development Organization (DRDO) for the successful flight test and expressed his happiness over the system’s performance.

“Congratulations to DRDO, Indian Navy & the industry for the successful flight test of Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha. This success will further enhance the defence capability of Indian Naval Ships against the aerial threats (sic),” Singh tweeted.

The ballistic missile weighs 50 per cent less than Agni 3 and can be launched from rail and road and stored for a longer period and transported all across the country as per operational requirements

The organisation said that The VL-SRSAM,Vertically Launched Short Range Surface to Air Missile, is indigenously designed and developed by the DRDO for the Indian Navy, is meant for neutralising various aerial threats at close ranges, including sea-skimming targets.

The VL-SRSAM other wise called Agni prime or Agni-P is a new generation advanced variant of Agni class of missiles. It is a two-stage canisterised missile with range capability between 1,000 and 2,000 km.

Earlier this month India also successfully tested its nuclear-capable Agni-4 intermediate range ballistic missile from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The defence ministry said the test reaffirmed India’s policy of having a ‘credible minimum deterrence’ capability.
