Although below expectations, his latest release ‘Dunki’ is also doing well and might soon enter the Rs 300-crore club. As King Khan is set to close off 2023 on a higher note with three successful films, fans are curious to know what 2024 has in store for him.

While SRK has not made any official announcement, there are speculations that he may star in the highly-anticipated Dhoom 4, the fourth installment of the ‘Dhoom’ franchise.

Dhoom 4 is trending on X, formerly known as Twitter, as fans are indulging in wild theories that SRK may headline the action-drama film that will be directed by Siddharth Anand.

Rumours are rife that YRF is in advance talks with King Khan and ‘RRR’ fame star Ram Charan will be seen as a cop. The box office would be set ablaze if fan theories of SRK and Ram Charan together in Dhoom 4 comes true.

Even actor Uday Chopra had earlier stated that SRK was the perfect choice to take the Dhoom franchise forward. During an interview, Uday said, “If think Shah Rukh would be great. He would make a great villain. He has done a little bit of the dark movies like Darr and Baazigar. We should come up with a story which really can portray Shah Rukh Khan in a never seen avatar.”

Echoing Uday’s words, actor Abhishek Bachchan who plays ACP Jai Dixit in the franchise also said that SRK would be great as a villain in Dhoom 4.

Earlier, there were reports that Salman Khan would be taking over the Dhoom franchise. However, the rumours were later rubbished.

Now Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo has dethroned Pathaan from this position. Thanks to the aggressive distribution strategy adopted by the distributors’ Ahimsa Entertainment, in the UK and Europe Leo has set an all-time record of being the Indian movie with the highest advance ticket sales for the first day dethroning Pathaan.

It also indicates that not only the Bollywood superstars, but even the superstars from the South like Thalapathy Vijay also have immense following abroad, and if the right strategy is adopted, they can also create havoc at the box office overseas. The latest report says that Pathaan had registered an opening number of £319K but Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo has already gone beyond that number and there is almost a week for its release. Hence the number of advance bookings is expected to go higher and higher.

Leo is a Tamil-action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and has already taken Indian advance sales by storm. Thalapathy Vijay is known for delivering back-to-back hits and it seems true to his image Leo is also all set to become a blockbuster. Apart from Vijay, Leo also features Arjun, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan and Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Looking at the hype for Salman Khan ’s Tiger 3 it is expected that the movie will also have tremendous response overseas when it comes to advance bookings. Currently, Leo, Pathaan, and Jawan of Shah Rukh Khan are the three movies with the highest first-day advance bookings in the UK and Europe followed by Salman Khan’s Sultan and SRK’s Chennai Express at the fifth position.

However, there were reports that the movie would clash with the Rebel star’s upcoming movie ‘Salaar’. Directed by KGF fame director Prashanth Neel, Salaar is another big movie of this year. With both the movies scheduled to release on December 22, fans were going to witness a box office clash between Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan.

However, what now comes as good news for fans, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is likely to be postponed to avoid the clash. Well-known film critic and film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared the good news on his X handle, formerly known as Twitter.

“Buzz: #SalaarVsDunki X #ShahRukhKhan’s #Dunki likely to get POSTPONED. #Prabhas’ #Salaar to get a SOLO record release,” he tweeted.

If reports are to be believed, Dunki might be postponed from the December 22 release due to delayed post-production works. However, there has been no official confirmation in this regard yet.

This is great news for Prabhas fans as his last two movies Adipurush and Saaho failed to recreate the magic of Baahubali at the box office. With Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, fans are hoping to see the vintage action star Prabhas back and enjoy the movie in theatres.

On the other hand, SRK is basking high on the success of both Jawan and Pathaan and without any doubt will likely go hat trick with Dunki.

The fan identified as Aakash Pillay documented his one-month struggle on his Instagram and his story is now going viral on social media. As per the report, the fan embarked on a journey on August 28 to meet the actor.

He traveled all the way from his hometown and stationed himself in Mumbai. For a month, he reached out to various people, waited outside Shah Rukh Khan’s home Mannat, and attended events that were graced by SRK in the hope of meeting him.

It collected a record-breaking Rs 65.50 crore at the Indian box office on the first day of the release, as per Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film’s opening day collection was 19.09% higher than SRK’s earlier hit Pathaan.

Taran Adarsh wrote in his X post, “Jawan is sensational…Creates history…Jawan hits the ball out of the stadium, Shatters all previous records… Biggest opener [Hindi films] in India. Day 1 biz…Jawan: ₹ 65.50 cr [19.09% HIGHER than #Pathaan]”Pathaan had an opening of Rs 55 crore, the Hindi version of KGF (with Rs 53.95 crore), War, which collected 51.60 crore on its opening day and Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan, which earned Rs 50.75 crore on day 1.

The caption on the post read, “Its 5:35AM in the morning and we have started celebration for our historic 6AM and its MASS HYSTERIA as welcome the KING to the big screen.” Shah Rukh reacted to the video early in the morning today and he wrote, “Love you boys and girls I hope you enjoy the entertainment. Kept awake to see you go to the theater. Big love and thanks.”Veteran actor Dharmendra had also wished SRK with these words, “Shah Rukh, Bete wish you a great luck for Jawan.” The actor’s reply was this, “Love you sir. Thank u so much. Will come over and take a tight hug.

”SRK also replied to Vikram director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s tweet. The filmmaker tweeted, “Wishing the absolute best to SRK sir, my dear brothers Atlee, Anirudh, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and the entire cast and crew of Jawan to be a blockbuster.” Shah Rukh Khan replied, “Thank you so much. Please try and see the film if and when you get some time. See it in Tamil and tell me if we got it right sir. And all my love for Leo.”

It is because of the line mouthed by Shah Rukh Khan’s character in the ‘Jawan’ trailer, and it comes right after the credit line, ‘Produced by Gauri Khan’: “Bete ko haath lagane se pahle, baap se baat kar.”

The declaration was seen by SRK fans as King Khan sending out “a clear message to Sameer Wankhede and his handlers in Delhi”.

On the face of it, it may seem like just another dialogue in the context of the film and its story, but for the twitterverse (or Xverse), it seemed like SRK’s fitting riposte to Wankhede for the arrest of Aryan Khan and the media circus that the now-discredited officer had instigated around King Khan’s son.

On October 3, 2021, an NCB team led by Wankhede had arrested Aryan along with six others during a raid on an alleged rave party on a cruise ship. Aryan was granted bail after almost three weeks on October 28 and was later cleared of all charges.

Wankhede, who had earlier investigated the drug involvement angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case, was later charged with corruption and extortion in connection with the Aryan Khan case. The Central Bureau of Investigation has alleged that the drug charges were part of a scheme to blackmail the Khan family.
