Dr Jeffrey Long, who founded the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation in 1998, recently published an essay based on his experiences in Insider. He defined NDEs as ”someone who is either comatose or clinically dead, without a heartbeat, having a lucid experience where they see, hear, feel emotions, and interact with other beings.”

He has been collecting stories from those who have reported NDEs and has been scientifically analysing the accounts. While each story is different, he noticed a similar pattern of events emerging in a predictable order in many cases.

According to him, about 45% of people who have an NDE report an out-of-body experience. People claim ‘their consciousness separates from their physical body, usually hovering above,” allowing them to see and hear what happens around them.

After the out-of-body experience, people say they’re transported into another realm. Many pass through a tunnel and experience a bright light. Then, they’re greeted by deceased loved ones, including pets, who are in the prime of their lives. Most people report an overwhelming sense of love and peace. They feel like this other realm is their real home,” Long further noted.

He also added witnesses statements to support the narratives.

Citing an example, he said, ”One woman lost consciousness while riding her horse on a trail. Her body stayed on the trail while her consciousness traveled with her horse as he galloped back to the barn. Later, she was able to describe exactly what happened at the barn because she had seen it despite her body not being there. Others who hadn’t spoken to her confirmed her account.”

However, he admitted that he never found any scientific explanation for these experiences, Insider reported.

I’ve read brain research and considered every possible explanation for NDEs. The bottom line is that none of them hold water,” he concluded.

Other doctors who have been conducting similar research also agreed with Dr Long and cited a few familiar traits.

World Paper Bag Day 2023: Date, history, significance and other important details https://publictrustofindia.com/2023/07/13/world-paper-bag-day-2023-date-history-significance-and-other-important-details/ Thu, 13 Jul 2023 08:08:14 +0000 https://publictrustofindia.com/?p=2069 Bhubaneswar: In the past, plastic bags were widely prevalent, found in grocery stores and retail businesses. However, due to the significant harm they pose to our planet, a powerful movement has emerged to combat their use. Plastic bags not only take centuries to decompose, but they also endanger wildlife, pollute oceans and landscapes, and cause lasting damage to ecosystems.

As a result, the movement advocated for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bags. This gave rise to the production of environmentally sustainable paper bags, which are easily recyclable. These bags offer a greener option for carrying and packaging goods.

World Paper Bag Day recognizes and celebrates the use of this more environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bags. By celebrating World Paper Bag Day, the aim is to raise awareness about the benefits of using eco-friendly paper bags. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of making environmentally conscious choices in our daily lives and encourages individuals and businesses to transition to more sustainable options.

Every year, on the 12th of July, World Paper Bag Day is commemorated to underscore the importance of opting for paper bags over plastic alternatives.

WORLD PAPER BAG DAY 2023: HISTORY

Paper bags have a historical origin rooted in the 19th century when Francis Wolle invented the first paper bag machine in 1852. This groundbreaking invention revolutionized the production of paper bags, leading to their widespread adoption as a packaging solution. However, the popularity of plastic bags surged in the 20th century due to their convenience and cost-effectiveness. Nevertheless, as people became increasingly aware of the detrimental environmental impact of plastic bags, the use of paper bags resurfaced.

A significant turning point occurred in 1999 when San Francisco took a stand against plastic bags by banning their usage in grocery stores and pharmacies, becoming the first city worldwide to enforce such a prohibition. This action inspired other cities and nations around the globe to follow suit, reigniting interest in paper bags. Consequently, the celebration of World Paper Bag Day emerged as an international event, marked by parades, festivals, and various activities promoting the use of paper bags as an alternative to plastic.

WORLD PAPER BAG DAY 2023: SIGNIFICANCE
Paper Bag Day holds great significance as it plays a vital role in advocating for a more environmentally sustainable and pristine planet. The detrimental impact of plastic bags on our Earth cannot be underestimated, as their non-biodegradable nature poses a substantial threat.

These bags often find their way into landfills or oceans, posing grave risks to marine life. By embracing the use of paper bags, we can mitigate the generation of plastic waste and actively contribute to safeguarding our planet for future generations.

Paper bags possess several advantageous qualities that make them a superior choice. They are crafted from renewable resources and are biodegradable, meaning they can be easily recycled and broken down without causing harm to the environment. This notable advantage reinforces the case for using paper bags as an eco-friendly alternative.

The primary objective of Paper Bag Day is to enhance public awareness regarding the detrimental effects that plastic bags can have on the environment. The day aims to promote the utilisation of paper bags and other environmentally conscious alternatives. By raising awareness and encouraging the widespread adoption of paper bags, we can foster a shift towards a greener and more sustainable future.
