Bhubaneswar: Amid the political slugfest over the construction under Srimandir Parikrama project, ASI Superintendent Archaeologist Arun Mallick on Friday visited the pilgrim town and inspected the project site.

The ASI Superintendent Archaeologist carried out an on-the-spot inspection along with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Vir Vikram Yadav.

Notably, on May 9, the ASI informed the Orissa High Court that no valid permission was given for the heritage corridor project being constructed around the Jagannath Temple.

The court had directed the ASI to conduct a joint inspection of the site with the state government and submit a report before the court.

The ASI also informed that the drawing and structural designs included in the revised detailed project report (DPR) are different from the one presented to the National Monument Authority (NMA).
